Air Force Big Band

(17 musicians: 13 wind instrument players and a rhythm section)

The programme includes a wide variety of foreign and domestic big band music from the 1920s to today. The band’s repertoire ranges from swing, latin music and soul to rhythm & blues and even classic heavy metal with Jarkko Ahola as the vocalist. Since 2008, the Air Force Big Band has organised its own entertainment-oriented Aalto concert series in the Jyväskylä Paviljonki. It draws a full house of eager listeners four times a year. A wide selection of domestic and international artists have been heard as soloists in the concert series.
