Brass Septet
The Lapland Military Band’s Brass Septet
The Lapland Military Band’s Brass Septet is a versatile and adaptable ensemble consisting of seven brass players and 1-2 percussionists. The septet is suitable for any occasion – whether in a concert hall or on a market square. Our septet has performed in numerous chamber concerts in churches, schools and concert halls, and has celebrated various events.
The brass septet is a traditional ensemble developed in Finland in the 1870s, for which composers such as Jean Sibelius, Toivo Kuula, and Leevi Madetoja wrote symphonic music. The Lapland Military Band’s Brass Septet maintains the old septet tradition, performing not only original compositions but also a wide range of arranged music. Our innovative septet also regularly strives to perform works by contemporary composers, thus renewing traditions and advancing septet music.
